Though the overall experience at Frydays impresses many, a few customers express concerns regarding busy peak times. Friday evenings see high volume from both locals and tourists, leading to long waits for food. Some diners noted that during these bustling times, the ambiance can feel a bit cramped, especially if you're hoping for a leisurely meal. Although the staff is friendly and diligent, the sheer volume can lead to occasional mix-ups or delayed orders. Those sensitive to noise might find peak hours overwhelming, so it’s best to seek out quieter lunch times. A handful of diners also mentioned the desire for more robust vegetarian options, making it a consideration for non-meat eaters.
Very friendly people!!! Good start as you walk in a chippy is for the staff to say hi. I had cod, chips and mushy peas The Mrs had haddock, chips and curry sauce Both fish were very tasty and a reasonable portion size!! The curry sauce was a good texture and flavour and the mushy peas were some of the nicest I've tried. 23 quid it cost. Which is about right nowadays. I was impressed and would return!!
Lovely fish and chips sat outside in the sun perfect. Food was great with friendly happy staff. Well worth the walk to about 6-7 minutes walk from the promenade. Recommend 👌😊
Really good fish and chip takeaway. Not greasy, well cooked. We had a big order for 10 people and it was all cooked really well. Friendly staff and good service too (very busy on a Friday evening but everything seemed well in hand). A great end to a lovely week's holiday in the town. Recommended!
Absolutely fantastic little fish and chip shop! Food was super fresh and the chips were to die for! My kids loved it too! Could fault the staff who were super friendly too! Will definitely be back!
First time been here and it was so great! The cod fish is soft and juicy, the outside was crispy and very thin. The taste is just fine and not salty. The homemade curry sauce is delicious and not spicy, suitable for kids as well. It should be one of the best fish and chip I tried and highly recommend👍🏻
Was working on a job round the corner when one of the lads suggested a chippy for dinner, didn’t go in with high expectations but my god was I surprised, best haddock I’ve had in my life second to none and the chips, mushy peas and curry sauce were all spot on as well! I wasn’t waiting for ages either despite there being other customers and all the staff were so friendly and welcoming! Brought me right back to my childhood that chippy did and I will definitely be back again if I’m in or around the area!
Love this place I’ve been several times and not disappointed. Home made steak and ale pie is well worth the price. I forgot to order gravy or peas on my last visit.
You can't miss the traditional cod and chips, served golden and crispy. The homemade steak and ale pie is another favorite, packed with rich, savory flavors. Don’t forget to pair your meal with mushy peas and a dollop of tartare sauce.
